Badanie stawu skroniowo-żuchwowego przed leczeniem ortodontycznym. Przegląd piśmiennictwa

Examination of the temporomandibular joint before orthodontic treatment – literature review

Abstract
The work contains a review of the literature describing clinical situations in which the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) was examined before the start of orthodontic treatment. The publications were aimed at showing the relationship between the occurrence of a given dysfunction of the TMJ and orthodontic treatment. The examination was performed each time before the commencement of orthodontic therapy and after a specified treatment period or after its complete completion. Depending on the study protocol, different test methods were used. There is no single gold standard for examining the temporomandibular joint before orthodontic treatment.
