Streszczenie

Przetrwały ząb mleczny to dla pacjenta problem estetyczny, a dla lekarza – dylemat dotyczący wyboru metody leczenia. Postępowanie chirurgiczne i ortodontyczne, zwłaszcza w przypadku zatrzymanego kła stałego, jest metodą inwazyjną, a sam proces leczenia wielu pacjentom wydaje się zbyt długi i kosztowny. Alternatywą jest wówczas zachowanie zęba z modyfikacją jego kształtu. Mimo że takie postępowanie może oznaczać jedynie odroczenie inwazyjnego leczenia, pacjenci często decydują się na wykonanie odbudowy, której przykład przedstawiono w artykule.

Abstract

A persistent deciduous tooth is an aesthetic problem for the patient but for a dentist it poses a dilemma of the right course of procedure. A surgical and orthodontic treatment, especially of an impacted permanent canine, is an invasive procedure in itself and the entire process seems to many patients to be long and costly. An alternative in such a case is to keep the tooth and reshape it. Although this approach may only delay the inevitable invasive treatment, many patients decide on such a restoration. An example of such a case is presented in this article.
