Istota płukanek do jamy ustnej z olejkami eterycznymi (OE) w codziennych zabiegach higienizacyjnych

The essence of mouthwashes with essential oils (EO) in daily hygiene procedures

Natalia Stefanik, Rafał Wiench

Streszczenie
Profilaktyka próchnicy i chorób przyzębia poprzez odpowiednią higienę jamy ustnej stanowi najistotniejszy fragment całej profilaktyki stomatologicznej.

Abstract
The prevention of caries and periodontal diseases through appropriate oral hygiene is the most important part of the entire dental prophylaxis. The “gold standard” of bacterial biofilm control are mechanical methods, but their effectiveness is limited. The use of rinses as an additional element of oral hygiene gives better results than using only mechanical means. The aim of the study is to present
a review of the literature on the use of mouthwashes with essential oils (EO) as a legitimate element of daily hygiene procedures.
