Abstract
Dental erosion is defined as the gradual destruction of an enamel surface due to chemical or electrolytic dissolution by acids (and/or chelation) without the participation of bacterial flora. The first symptom is the polished appearance of the enamel, but it can progress until it is completely worn with the exposed dentine. Nowadays, the development of erosive lesions in adolescents is caused by, among others, too frequent consumption of acidic fruit juices and isotonic liquids or psychosomatic disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. It is necessary to conduct appropriate prevention and pro-health education in schools.
