Optymalny czas leczenia wad zgryzu pozostaje nadal kontrowersyjnym zagadnieniem. Złotym standardem, jeśli chodzi o termin rozpoczęcia leczenia ortodontycznego, jest okres skoku wzrostowego, jednakże w niektórych przypadkach wczesna diagnostyka i wczesna interwencja są niezbędne. Celem pracy jest przegląd piśmiennictwa na temat skuteczności leczenia wczesnego poszczególnych wad zgryzu i przedstawienie wskazań do leczenia wczesnego i interceptywnego.

Early and interceptive treatment of malocclusion – review of the literature

Summary

The optimal time for treating malocclusion continues to be a controversial subject. The gold standard as regards the time for commencement of treatment is the period of increased growth. In certain cases, however early diagnosis and early intervention are paramount. The aim of the study was to carry out a review of the literature regarding the effectiveness of early treatment of particular malocclusions and to present the indications for early and interceptive treatment.
